My husband and I chose the concert as our special occasion to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary (which was back in July!).</p> <p>We splurged and got one of the package tickets with a reserved blanket near the front since we were driving several hundred miles to get there. The show was wonderful, the seat was great, and we were quite pleased with what the Zoo folks put together for the venue.</p> <p>We purchased the Portland tickets after we found out that you were also performing in Northern California. We would have gone to the Saratoga venue had we known in advance, since we live near San Francisco.</p> <p>As it turned out, we'd already bought our tickets so we made a weekend of it. It was only when we were at your Portland concert that we were wondering what happened in the Saratoga concert, since you mentioned on stage a few times that the band had had a very bad evening the night before.</p> <p>It was only when we returned back home that we read the news.</p> <p>We're SO sorry that happened to you. What a terrible thing. You are all in our thoughts as you deal with having such a terrible thing happen during the show.</p> <p>We do appreciate greatly that you decided to go on with the show; driving all the way from San Francisco to Portland for the concert and have it be canceled would have been tough for us.</p> <p>Thank you very much again. I just wanted to say thank you for such an amazing concert and for dealing with the horrific incident so gracefully. Glen and I talked a bit while I was waiting to tell the police what I saw (I'm the 17 year old girl who was wearing jeans and a flannel). Glen was SO comforting despite the fact that he was just as shocked as the rest of us. My teenage daughter Megan was the girl you came over to comfort and talk with while she was waiting to talk to the Sheriff's Deputy. She was upset by the horrible events and also worried about the effect on you and the band. Your actions and words made her feel much better, and was a real life example of the compassion you write in your songs. Largely thanks to you, she has bounced back nicely and is packing to leave for college at the end of the week. If your tour takes you to LA, I'm sure she'll be there. </p>
