The Swell Season

In August this year, my friend Edward Norton invited me to visit the Maasai Tribe in Kenya with him, he’s been doing humanitarian work in Africa for some years now.

It was an incredible and profound experience, and my first time to visit the great continent.

We stayed with the tribe at a camp in the Chyulu Hills run by local tribesmen along with Luca, a beautiful and crazy Italian, and his family. For me this experience went very deep and the music exchanged between myself and Edward and the Tribe will be a well from which I’ll drink for a long time to come. Edward, Luca, and some Tribesmen will run the New York Marathon in November 2009 to raise money for the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust.
